Argonne National Laboratory Seeking Postdoctoral Researcher

ANL logoThe Environmental Science division at Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral appointee to work in a project that bridges fine scale modeling with remote sensing of clouds and precipitation. The primary focus will be on developing forward models to generate instrument data streams from model representation of microphysics and dynamics.

The successful applicant will help drive the science behind a fully featured framework for the design of multi-instrument synergistic sampling of the atmosphere. Key issues to be investigated include non-simultaneous sampling of evolving phenomena and developing a sub-grid-scale representation of microphysics and turbulence in order to couple with existing open source scattering codes (T-Matrix, Dipole-Dipole Approximation etc.)

The candidate should have or be nearing completion of a PhD in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering or a related field.

The recommended deadline for applications is December 10, 2015.
