Following the success of the International Summer Snowfall Workshops held in Cologne in 2017, Hyytiälä in 2019, and Reading/online in 2021, the 2023 workshop will be held in person in Leipzig, Germany, from September 11 to 13. The main goal of the workshop is to bring together the snowfall community for exchanging new developments in all related fields including ground-based and spaceborne remote sensing, in situ, laboratory, and modeling.
Topics of interest include:
- ice microphysical processes and snowflake microstructure
- scattering properties of snowflakes and their connection to microphysical characteristics
- remote sensing of snowfall or ice clouds
- modeling of ice processes or data assimilation
- laboratory studies
- field (in situ) observations of snowfall/ice clouds
Organizers welcome studies using theory, modeling, field observations, or laboratory studies to address these topics.
